What a week! God has been teaching me so much this week. He is showing me his faithfulness, grace, and power. He is a God who changes lives and we are blessed to be a part of it. Jeremiah 9:24 says, "'but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who excercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,' declares the Lord"
In my last post I told you how ministry was just hard here, but the Lord has a perfect plan. I told you about meeting with Ann who I had met last year and how Sarah and I were able to share the gospel with her again. I just want to say thank you for your prayers for her because she is now a heir to the thrown who understands and knows the Lord. I am excited to tell you this and humbled at the same time.
Sarah and I met with Ann just yesterday to hang out with her and follow up on the discussion we had about the gospel a week earlier. We were struggling to get into a spiritual conversation and so when there was a break in the conversation I just asked her if she had read the booklet we gave her last week about Jesus. She said that she had and I asked her if she saw a need for Jesus in her life. She said that she did see the need and that she asked Jesus into her heart two days earlier. Sarah and I were dumbfounded :) We were excited, but doubtful not sure how to react because this was the first time in two summers here that we were able to see the Lord change someone's life. We were kind of weary about it, but then Ann asked us if we had made the decision, both Sarah and I smiled and then we were able to share with her how we made the choice to trust Jesus with our lives when we were younger. It was encouraging to know that she did not make the choice because we had made that choice and that it was her own.
Why do we doubt the power of the Lord? Why do we forget that he has changed our life? Why can't we understand that the gospel is a powerful message able to penetrate any heart?
Thank you so much for your prayers. I heard last night that there is "nothing short of a small army" praying for us and the people that we are meeting. Thank you so much for that because we must have an army behind us to defeat Satan in this country. Please continue to pray for our team and for the people that we meet. We may not see a lot of fruit right now, but that doesn't mean that God isn't moving. Ann heard the gospel at least three times while we were here last year and did not see her need for Jesus until this year. Pray that people would get connected to the ministry here so that when the STInt team comes in the fall they will be able to continue the ministry started here.

Kerry-Lyn! I'm so excited to hear about Ann's decision to join the kingdom of God! How wonderfully encouraging that we have a new sister in Christ. And what a blessing that you and Sarah had the opportunity to play a part in it and see it transpire over two summers. I can't believe your time there is already wrapping up! You guys are in my prayers and I can't wait to hear more and see pictures! Love you guys!
